remembering
Jan. 19th, 2014 11:53 pmHi all,
Many of you who have known me know that I get in my reflective moods from time to time and this is one of them. Today as I was listening to some vidios on youtube I came across Lenard Skinnard behind the music. I sat and watched and loved it. However, it began to make me think of my dad as they were one of his favorite bands. I know it's been almost 8 years since he passed away but sometimes little things just make me think of him. One verse in Free Bird in particular did tonight. If I leave here tomorrow would you still remember me? I can honestly answer that question with the statement that there is not a day that goes by that I don't think about you dad. A lot has changed since you left. I finally did what I said I would. I grew up, and got married to a man who reminds me a great deal of you. We aren't having any kids, but you'd love your son in law to pieces. Sam is doing well as well and I still route for the Phillies as I did when you were around. I think back at that 21 year old kid when you left this earth and often times wonder what you would think of the decisions I made. would you be proud? How would you and Chris get along? I know these are questions I will never had answered, but I can often times imagine what it would be like to have you here. I know you are happy wherever you are. I hear a Harley thunder by on the street and often times will say "there's dad again". Time may have eased the pain a lot, but your memory will forever live on in my heart. I miss you every day, but know you are in a better place. So if you can do me a favor and fly fly free bird until we meet again. I love you dad.
